Hey Folks. It's July 25th and it's time to Rock Gunstock Mountain in Gilford NH. We will be taking the main stage just in front of "the almost" and then "Switchfoot" on Sat Aug 6th. On Aug 5th we will be suitcase kicking in an outdoor tent around 6:30 and then at 10:30 in front of "the Wrecking" we will be Rocking the indoor stage (Mercy Street Cafe). We have much music planned for your listening enjoyment. New songs, old songs. We are bringing along our Little EP we recorded in Dec along with some Fresh Art painted by JT's Wife. Some DIY homemade BKD and Big Kettle Drum shirts will not be in short supply, but get to us early, because were not making any on site. (They will go quick).
So this is a little update for all you BKD followers and web visitors. We hope your summer has been full of pools, ice cream and all the stuff you do during the summer. Maybe even a beach if you live near one.
Keep rocking Kettle Heads.

BOSTON-BASED BAND, BIG KETTLE DRUM, ENCOURAGES MUSIC LOVERS TO PADDLE FOR THEIR LIVES
APRIL 11, 2011 (BOSTON, MA) -- Freshly back from conquering the SXSW Festival in Austin, TX, Big Kettle Drum (BKD) releases its debut EP mixed and mastered by Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The band is carving a new path with their visceral performances and vintage riff-based blues rock. Their sound is a mash-up of BRMC and Mumford & Sons with gritty vocals and face-kicking arrangements mixed with slide-guitar and banjo ripping through a wah-wah pedal. It's passionate music that invokes an emotional response.
“The music speaks to you on a guttural level,” states front-man Brant Christopher. “We are fighting to keep that type of music in the forefront of people’s minds. The outpouring of bubble- gum pop with meaningless lyrics is polluting this generation. Our music is a cry for a revolution against this wave of mediocrity that threatens to wash away all that real artists live for. It’s time to get in this boat and paddle for our lives.”
Big Kettle Drum features two former Fort Pastor members Brant Christopher (vocals) and Jeffrey Todd (slide guitar & banjo) along with Jesse Russell (drums) and Free Hallas (Bass).
Big Kettle Drum will be touring extensively this fall throughout the US. Their live shows leave you sweaty, affected and wanting to enlist in this revolution to embrace music that speaks to your soul.

SXSW
March 2011 SXSW. BKD is officially doing what every musician, band, artist, manager and anyone in the music industry is supposed to do. Check that "has" to do. So it's been said.
Fashion abounds! Everywhere we look there is some "Cool" dressed person looking like they own the place. BKD, well were just renting for the week.
Our 1st show was a great tune up. The Red Shed Tavern just on the outskirts of the official festival was a fabulous host and we worked out the kinks and settled in for what was a great night.
We are at Momo's this afternoon. Showcasing in the heart of SXSW on 6th street. I Stageit will be there filming our set Live at 5 est 4 central. Can't wait to get our Rock on for the folks of Texas.
Be well friends and keep your ears tuned in to the new BKD Ep coming soon.

SXSW & New EP!
Not long now before we head off to play the SXSW festival in Austin, TX. We will be playing several times during the festival. Look at our Shows feed to see where and when. The new EP is in the mix stage and we can't wait to hear the final tracks. We will be touring in MA and NH in April and in FL in May. Check back for updates for the details.
JT has been burying himself in the world of Amps trying to find the perfect tone. He is about a step away from a straight jacket. The man knows what he wants...let's all hope he finds it...soon!
I just picked up a new Bugera V55 Tube Head and a matching 2x12 cab. Love the sound. Dirty and fat. Just what the doctor ordered.
Jesse has been putting together the ultimate drum set. Open faced kick...old school snare...fat floor tom...you name it. Sounds incredible.
Free is..well...nobody really knows what Free does...he is a phantom. Like a bass playing ninja.
Hope all of you are well and enjoying life. Looking forward to seeing you on the road and getting some music in your hands.
Love & Light,
Brant - BKD
